Lenel to Exhibit New OnGuard Release at ASIS

ATLANTA, ASIS International, Booth # 2835, Sept. 15, 2008 — More than 50 new features recently added to Lenel OnGuard software (release 6.1.222) are now commercially available through the company’s network of authorized OnGuard value-added resellers. The company will be demonstrating many of these features in its booth, #2835, at this month’s ASIS International trade show. Lenel is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Highlights of the new release include:

  • A new customer feedback button in the OnGuard software console that enables users to submit comments directly to Lenel through a web interface.
  • The addition of a Device Discovery Tool which automatically recognizes, configures and addresses a wide range of IP cameras across subnets, simplifying installation and configuration.
  • A new browser-based host module for the OnGuard Visitor application that offers simplified deployment and a customizable user interface.
  • Expanded integrated intrusion detection, including alarm history and visible and audible indication of entry and exit delays at any supported LCD keypad device.
  • Integrated support for HID Edge devices, providing a simplified access control hardware architecture and a lower cost per door in materials and labor. Edge devices are ideal for extending OnGuard installations to interior spaces and controlled areas.
  • A new Lenel-branded camera, the LC-330DX, a full-color, day-night camera that features superior video quality, wide dynamic range (WDR), progressive scan, Power-over-Ethernet, MPEG-4 and two-way audio support.
  • Support for the Real-Time Transport Protocol over Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTP/RTSP), an open standard for efficiently delivering video and audio data in real time over IP networks.
  • Data import for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) standard U.S. government identification cards. Data such as badge number, expiration date, cardholder’s name, photo and TPK (TWIC Privacy Key) can be imported, with optional fingerprint verification and/or import to ensure the cardholder’s identity.
  • Support for H.264-compatible cameras. H.264 is a video compression standard that produces video quality superior to MPEG-4, and less data. This reduces bandwidth and storage costs, and increases the capacity of Lenel LNVR and LDVR video recorders.
