Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program Attracts New Solutions for the OnGuard® Security Platform
PITTSFORD, N.Y. – April 2, 2014 — Now in its 15th year, the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP) continues to incorporate a wide variety of third-party solutions that add value to OnGuard®, Lenel Systems International's industry-leading security platform. The program currently has 120 active partners, with a rigorous certification process that ensures system compatibility and customer satisfaction. Lenel is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Third-party providers offer more than 100 Lenel-certified products and solutions in a variety of categories, such as visitor management, time and attendance, radio frequency identification (RFID), license plate recognition, intrusion, mass notification, mobile readers, wireless locks, elevator control and more. The OAAP has also certified more than 100 camera types. "The program was developed in the spirit of open architecture and Lenel's commitment to provide security through a single, seamless solution," said Gidon Lissai, director of strategic alliances, Lenel. "It's important for us to partner with other manufacturers to develop interfaces to the OnGuard platform for the mutual benefit of our customers and to continue to provide leading-edge capabilities."
The open architecture of OnGuard makes the OAAP possible. The program is open to companies interested in developing interfaces based on the OnGuard application programming interface (API), which is available on the Lenel website. Lenel tests each interface, validating that it is stable, does not break any OnGuard functionality and provides the customer with the value claimed by the third-party company.
These interfaces are then marketed on a global scale to more than 20,000 OnGuard system users worldwide that are seeking solutions provided by the OAAP companies. Those companies are required to recertify their interface whenever Lenel releases a new version of OnGuard.
"This program is a triple win — it benefits OnGuard users, the third-party providers and Lenel," Lissai said. The process for joining the OAAP is outlined on the Lenel website at http://www.lenel.com/oaap. The site also lists those organizations offering OnGuard interfaces that have completed the Lenel certification process.
